As a by-product of 2020’s lockdown, I co-founded an e-commerce business as a side project that allowed me to continue to grow my skills, test different strategies, and keep busy. The site consistently remained in the top 9% of businesses in the same category on Shopify (ranked based on traffic and sales) and maintained a 12.5% conversion rate (the industry average is 2.3%). In addition, I analyzed buying patterns and implemented various strategies and APIs that contributed to >7% of additional revenue… All this while creating all branding, content, photography, and many of the actual, hand-sewn products.
